During the service you are invited to have a foot washing or even wash your hands during this part of the service. After the foot washing, the liturgy moves to the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, just as Jesus shared bread and wine with his disciples at the Last Supper. This moment, so solemn and sacred, is the heart of the Maundy Thursday service.
